Another history for the Filipino boxers were written today.
In the local fight scene at Ynares Sports Center, Villoria defeated Mexican Omar Soto by split decision , almost 6 months after he lost to Carlos Tamarao of Columbia.
Viloria was in control of the fight in the first five rounds but Soto came on beginning round six and took the fight. Viloria won with the scores 93-97, 97-93 and 97-93.
Viloria was quoted saying “I thought this was a good first step in getting myself back into championship form. It wasn’t pretty but I got the job done this time. I didn’t want to make it too dramatic. I put my boxing skills to do the work and I just wanted to come out there safe, shake a little bit of cobwebs out and I think I did that tonight.”
Meanwhile in Puerto Rico, Nonito “The Filipino Flash” Donaire won by technical knockout against the hard-hitting Hernan “Tyson “ Marquez of Mexico. His won was a total contrast to the fate of Bernabe Concepcion and Eden Sonsona who both lost on their respective fights.
Donaire stressed it was definitely his last fight as a super flyweight.
Surprisingly, Donaire was wearing a yellow boxing short with an “Aquino” label at the back instead of his name. I guess this is to show his support to the new president of the Philippines P-Noy.

FOOD
Roadtrip food is not about quality. It’s about quantity. Load your car with these classic snack foods and you’ll never go hungry in between highway restaurants:
Potato Chips
This is the best fuel for roadtrippers. Potato chips don’t need to be cooked, and they don’t need to be eaten using utensils. Just open the bag (neatly) and chow down! Pack at least 1-2 large bags per person. If it’s a long trip and you need to stay awake, pack the spicy stuff — the heat in your mouth will keep you up.
Soda
It’s rare that you can justify drinking large quantities of soda; so, when you have the opportunity, seize it! Pack at least one huge bottle (or three cans) for each roadtripper. If you have a cooler, pack the soda in that with a lot of ice. Nothing spoils a road trip faster than having to drink warm soda all day. Yuck.
Donuts
If potato chips and soda don’t contain enough simple carbohydrates for your liking, take along some donuts to give you that extra sugar rush. Pack at least 2-3 donuts per person, and get lots of different kinds — powdered, cream-filled, bars, holes. If you are going on a trip with someone you are interested in, please don’t embarrass yourself by spilling jelly cream or white powder all over yourself. Pack some tissue or paper towels just to be safe.

SIMPLE HOME PREVENTION MEASURES
- Crush your cigarettes and cigar stubs thoroughly before discarding them. Provide yourselves with ashtray. Do not smoke in bed.
- Oil or gas and other native lamps should be place away from curtains and other objects that easily catch fire. Do not put them where the wind, children, cats or other moving beings may topple them. Put out the flame before going to bed.
- Do not store any flammable substance or any volatile liquid in the kitchen. Cover the flammable container tightly.Extinguish all live charcoals and embers or concentrate them in the middle of the stove after being through with kitchen chores. Make it a habit to inspect the kitchen before retiring. Most fires in the home occur at night.
- Keep matches and lighters away from reach of children.
- Clear the corners and nook of the house from rubbish, rags and other waste materials.
- Remove the accumulation of leaves in gutters and other parts of the roof and wood shaving and litters in the attic.
- Quantities of flammables, such as gasoline, oil benzene, naptha, alcohol, and other highly flammable materials should be kept in dwelling houses.
- Rubbish burning should be done on the stove or in the yard away from the house wall. Every smoldering coal left from the bonfire should be extinguished. Be careful that no flying embers from bonfire would alight on the roof of the houses.
- Do not use open flames for decorations.
- Combustible objects, such as firewoods, waste paper and rugs should not be indiscriminately dumped or strewn in the house. Boxes should be regularly cleaned.Kerosene and oil stoves should be checked to leakage and they should be regularly cleaned.
- Do not use leaking liquefied petroleum gas equipment.
