PhotoWorld Asia 2010, the biggest and longest running photography event in Southeast Asia will reels this coming January 28 to February 2, 2010.
Theme for this year’s PhotoWorld Asia 2010 is “Philippine Photography in Changing Times.”
PhotoWorld Asia will feature an annual trade show for the Philippine photography industry and an educational series where famous photographers will speak and share their expertise in workshops. It will also features the latest gadgets on videos, cameras and other photography products and services.
The trade show for the annual event will be held at the Glorietta, Ayala Center in Makati City, while the educational series of photography seminars will be at the SGV Hall of the Asian Institute of Management Conference Center Manila (ACCM), Benavidez cor. Trasierra Streets also in Makati.
Additional venues are at the Art Space, 3rd Floor, Glorietta 4 and the walkway of Glorietta 5 for the art and photo exhibits which will feature vintage cameras and iconic photographs that herald the history of Philippine photography from the 1840s to the present.
Speakers for the Photography Seminars
Kevin Ames, a very well know U.S. master photographer will be one of the guest speaker who will reveal his secrets on photographing women and his masterful Photoshop tricks. Kevin is a highly sought-after trainer for both the photographic and the digital arts. Ames is also a prolific author of books on digital photography. His books include The Digital Photographer’s Notebook, Digital SLR Photography with Photoshop for Dummies and The Art of Photographing Women.
Manny Librodo is the sensational Filipino photographer who has enthralled the world photographic community with his stunning portraits. He has conducted photography master classes not only in Bangkok, where he is based, but also in Indonesia, Vietnam, Bhutan, Egypt, Canada, India, The Netherlands and of course, the Philippines.

Other speakers are Jose Librido, an artist, musician and photographer all rolled into one will delve on design elements; Hugo Yonzon III , Bernie Ledesma, John Silva, John Tronco and Jason Magbanua.
The trade show for PhotoWorld Asia 2010 will be open to the public for free. You can view the latest cameras, gadgets and other photographic equipment at the various booths and stalls of the participating exhibitors.
Registration for the event is now in full swing. Registration is required for the educational series, where the featured speakers will share their expertise, tips and techniques with delegates. There’s a one-time fee of P5,000 for the whole duration of the educational series.
