The Department of Health announced last August 15, 2009 the start of the  availability of  the 5 medicines and all their different preparations, a total of 21 forms. Under the Maximum Drug Retail Prices, these medicines will be available at half their original prices in all drug retail outlets and hospital pharmacies nationwide.

Pursuant to Republic Act No. 9502 otherwise known as the “Universally Accessible Cheaper Quality Medicines Act of 2008″, Section 2b.2: No public or private entity or person shall be allowed to sell, reimburse, or demand from the public or patients payment or compensation higher than the MDRP.
