If Einstein were alive, he would tell us in our faces that we are very much insane.

I received an email today from one of the business groups/forum that I’m a member of. As I read the email, I was surprised on how the author described “patriotism”. As you know, one of the thrust of KayaMoPinoy site is to bring back and provide discussion on some of the beautiful traits of the Filipino people like the bayanihan spirit and more.

I want to share this email and hopefully will kindle the patriotism spirit and move us to action.

Patriotism is love for your own country at it’s best. There are many ways you can be patriotic. The ways can be violent or peaceful. The effect can be short lived or would last a lifetime. The Philippines needs more patriots. What can you do to be one? What can you do for our fellow countrymen?

DOING SMALL THINGS.

You can do small things to be patriotic. Be the best employee or do the best you can in every little thing that you do. But what are these little things? How can these little things affect our country.

Let’s take for example of our garbage. What are your habits with regard to throwing them properly? You may start this way. But as you would notice, this would take too long to really take effect. And the velocity how the environment degrades is faster than these little things. It’s true that you start small. But make it sure that you gain momentum and as it grows, it becomes faster versus the rate of the increase of the problem you are solving just like the example of our garbage and environment.

PLEA TO THE GOVERNMENT.

Or you can always let the government hear your voice. You go to rallies seeking for paycheck raise or roll-back of gas prices. This can be a good way to really help your countrymen. But have you noticed we have been doing these for a very long time. And you must have realized by now that nothing much have changed with the old strategy.

And sometimes we go overboard! We impeach the one seated in the Presidency. Then this cycle goes on and on. Are we doing this just for excitement? Maybe not and you may be very serious at it. But did you ever reflect to the real consequences? Yes, the person may be guilty. But the next action taken is taken for granted.

Thus everything goes in a cycle. We are doing the same thing and expecting a new result. If Einstein were alive, he would tell us in our faces that we are very much insane.

BUSINESS AND PATRIOTISM.

It’s great to know the billionaires and millionaires of the world are doing great things to make the world a better place. If you haven’t noticed it, search ‘charity of billionaires’ in the web. Yes you may not feel it simply because you don’t need it. It’s because you can provide for your own. And it just means that you have the opportunity to be a big part of it. Just imagine yourself helping a lot of people and build charities. And yes it’s sure is not that easy.

EVERYONE IS CAPABLE.

But not everyone has the courage of facing self-doubt. Courage is not the absence of fear but the knowledge that something is more important than fear.

Simply put, you are working today to provide for your family. It’s because your family is important and you love them. If contributing to a lot of people is important to you, then you wouldn’t mind you self-doubt and focus on your strengths on what you really can do.

Here’s the twist! If you can learn to provide for thousands of people, how in the world can you not provide for your family?

Patriotism is the same with the love for your family. It’s just you take your love to a greater scale knowing that if you will not start, who will. And if not today, when?

Each year, CNN gives $100,000 to the winner (from a field of ten finalists— winnowed from 9,000 nominees from all over the world) of its “Hero of the Year” award. This year, a 28-year-old Filipino, Efren Peñaflorida, made it to the top ten. (A panel of 12 well-known personalities from various fields picked the finalists. Colin Powell was among the judges this year).

Efren Penaflorida Pushing Cart

If Efren wins this year’s award (based on how many votes he gets, which will depend on us), he will be able to expand his mobile school program for the children of the slums in the Philippines.

What this young man is doing to improve the lives of the kids in the slums is truly inspiring.

Here’s the link to Efren’s story and his Dynamic Teen Company (the organization he founded). You can vote for Efren by clicking on the link found in the article. http://edition. cnn.com/2009/ LIVING/wayoflife /03/05/heroes. efren.penaflorida/index.html

Efren Teaching Street Children

Voting is open between now and Nov. 19. CNN will announce the winner and give out the award at a star-studded show on Thanksgiving night in L.A. at the Kodak Theater (same venue for the Oscars).

So, let’s all help Efren win so that he will, in turn, be able to help more impoverished kids.

The more votes Efren gets, the greater his chances of winning the “Hero of the Year” award and the $100K. It will take less than a minute to click a button to cast your vote. Let’s all help Efren continue to make a difference in those slum kids’ lives.

Without his mobile school and his group of volunteers, those kids will probably never have a chance to set foot in a real school and learn their ABCs.

Let’s all vote for Efren! Please don’t forget to pass this on to everybody you know—Filipinos and non-Filipinos alike—-so more people can vote for this young man with an extra big heart.

This is the continuation of the previous post, How To Register Your Business Name The Fast And Easy Way – Iwas Pila!

Q. How will the business applicants pay their new business name application with GCash? They must first apply/register with Globe.

A. To pay their BN application via GCash, here are the simple steps:

(a) Go to http://www.bnrs.dti.gov.ph or http://www.dti.gov.ph and click the Business Name Registration System (BNRS) icon;
(b) For registered users, type the Login and Password and press Sign In to gain access to Dashboard. Otherwise, press Create Account to register first;
(c) Select New Application, fill-out the online BN form, and select E-payment (GCash) on page 7, as mode of payment;
(d) Enter the eleven (11)-digit GCash registered mobile phone number;
(e) From their mobile phones, reply the SMS requesting for the entry of mobile personal identification number (MPIN);

Q. What will the client receive to confirm their GCash e-payment?

A. If the GCash e-payment transaction is successful, BNRS E-payment Confirmation Receipt will pop-up from the clients’ computer screen. There is an option to print the said page which serves as the Official Receipt. Also an SMS with GCash E-payment Reference Number will be sent to the mobile phone.

Q. What happens if upon final verification, the BN application is not approved? Will the client be refunded of the payment made?

A. If the clients have already paid through the GCash facility but their applications for business name registration are not approved due to similarity with existing business names already registered with DTI and or other agencies authorized to register names, the system will send an e-mail notice about the disapproval. Within the e-mail notice is a clickable link for the clients to change the business name they are applying for. Such will be the procedure until the business name is finally approved. Thus, there is no need for a refund, because all transactions will eventually be completed with an approved business name. However, if the clients encoded wrong information, they will be charged Php 50.00 for each correction.

Q. How will the client get their Business Name Certificate?

A. At the current state of the BNRS, clients need to pick-up from the proper DTI office, where their business is located, their Business Name Certificate. For clients with business addresses in Metro Manila, there currently is the option to have their Certificates of Business Name Registration delivered through AIR 21.

Q. How much will GCash charge the BNRS client?

A. The GCash will charge the clients Php 2.50 per text transaction. This will be added to the BN Registration fee of Php 150.00 for Sole Proprietorships. The clients will be informed of the charges via text message.

Q. How do I become a registered GCash subscriber?

A. Text REG[space][four(4) digit MPIN]/[mothers maiden name]/[first name]/[last name]/[address] and send to 2882.
